HOMAGE TO LA PASTORA LA PASTORA A refuge of the Caracas of yesteryear, a pergola where visions of the past have climbed; the twilight gives its green, pink, and other colored notes to bid farewell to the sun at sunset. Upon another awakening, it reveals its multiple landscapes to the passerby to be enthralled by each one, and then raise their gaze to the sky to ask for artists, painters, poets, and troubadours to come and delight in this unforgettable legacy. This legacy adorns the birthplace of the Liberator, transformed into a palette full of lyricism and multiple shades, where the frolicking of brushes and creative power leave a note of art on every wall of the Universe.
This is so the universal nucleus that rests in Montmartre may be inspired, with its many concerns, to visit La Pastora in Caracas and bring the light of the tropics to their monochromatic canvases—just as Pizarro did, he who could see the light when the sun tattooed the molasses and grass of the valleys of our “Sultana del Ávila.”

This is the most powerfully subtle weapon faced against the inconceivable pickaxe that intends to erase this inexhaustible inspiring source.
May our artistic vision be a testament to the La Pastora of yesterday, today, and forever, where “NATURE AND MAN” are reconciled—a call to lethargic consciences.
La Pastora is to its children what Venezuela is to Venezuelans: its history is the immediate reflection of its past, the reason for its own existence, its tradition, the customs of its people, and the way of life of the “pastoreño.” Its social development is the living incentive for cultural and economic improvement. The peace, faith, and desire to impart community good ecologically constitute the habitat. All this, together with a conservationist sense of its natural resources, is what has motivated and pointed the way for us to defend with patriotic fervor the only remaining neighborhood of the Caracas of yesterday.

HOMENAJE A LA PASTORA LA PASTORA Refugio de la Caracas de antaño, pérgola donde han ido a treparse visiones del ayer, el crepúsculo da sus notas verdes, rosas y demás colores para despedir al sol en su atardecer y al otro despertar, deja ver al viandante sus múltiples paisajes para extasiarse en cada uno y luego levantar su mirada al cielo, para pedir que vengan los artistas, pintores, poetas y trovadores, a deleitarse con este inolvidable legajo conque se engalana la cuna del Libertador, convertida en una paleta llena de lirismo de múltiples matices, donde el retozar de los pinceles y el poder creativo, van dejando en cada pared del Universo una nota de arte, para que se inspire el núcleo universal que se posa en Montmartre, con múltiples inquietudes y visiten La Pastora de Caracas y lleven la luz del trópico a sus monocordes lienzos, como lo hizo Pizarro, el que pudo ver la luz, cuando el sol tatuaba las melazas y césped de los valles de nuestra Sultana del Avila.

Que nuestra visión artística, testamento de La Pastora de ayer, hoy y siempre, donde se concilian “NATURALEZA Y HOMBRE” sea el llamado a las aletargadas conciencias.
