PAINTER AND SCULPTOR LUIS ALVAREZ DE LUGO JANUARY APRIL 1984

Luis Alvarez de Lugo was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He began his career at age of twenty, as a free lance artist, drawing hundreds of ilustrations for magazines, news papers, and books. He studied at the School of Plastics Arts of Caracas under great painters, and also with the Famous Artists Course of Westport Connecticut.

Alvarez de Lugo since 1960 has made many individual exibitions of his paintings and sculptures in the best galeries of his Country. He is represented in many public and private collection in Venezuela and others countrys like France, Spain, Portugal, England, Denmark, United States, etc. His work is in permanence in the Marcel Berheim Galerie of Paris.

Alvarez de Lugo has received numerous awards among others The “Golden Palette” from Armando Reverón Galerie in 1976. He is also member of important artistic and cultural institutions in his Country. He teaches at his own atelier in Caracas City where he live with his wife and childrens.

PINTOR Y ESCULTOR LUIS ALVAREZ DE LUGO ENERO ABRIL 1984

Luis Alvarez de Lugo nace en Caracas, Venezuela. El comienza su carrera artística como artista independiente, dibujando centenares de ilustraciones para revistas, periódicos y libros. El estudia en la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Caracas bajo la dirección de grandes pintores, también con el Curso de Artistas Famosos de Wesport, Connectitcut.

Alvarez de Lugo desde 1960 ha realizado numerosas exposiciones de sus pinturas y esculturas en las mejores galerías de su país. El está representado en muchas colecciones públicas y privadas en Venezuela y en otros países como Francia, España, Portugal, Inglaterra, Dinamarca, Estados Unidos, etc. Su trabajo está en permanencia en la Galería Marcel Berheim de París.

Alvarez de Lugo ha recibido numerosos premios, entre otros “Paleta de Oro de la Galería Armando Reverón en 1976. El también es miembro de importantes instituciones artísticas y culturales de su país. El enseña pintura y escultura en su propio atelier en la ciudad de Caracas, donde él vive con su esposa e hijos.
