Luis Alvarez de Lugo Exhibits in Paris Gallery PARIS. — At the Marcel Bernheim Gallery, located in the Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, the exhibition of Venezuelan painter Luis Alvarez de Lugo has opened with great brilliance. The exhibition, consisting of nearly thirty paintings, was opened to the public in the presence of the Counselor of the Delegation to UNESCO, the poet Rafael Ángel Insausti, as well as prominent members of the Venezuelan community and the Parisian art world.

They deliver milk in the same way, on little donkeys loaded with jugs usually led by women. They stop from house to house pouring the milk… I found it to be an extremely interesting scene, as things there remain in their primitive form, without artifices prepared for the tourist,” comments Alvarez de Lugo.
“Next Tuesday we leave for Paris,” continues Alvarez de Lugo, “to finalize the details of the exhibition, as it is already upon us. We shall see how we come out of all this.”
Indeed, Luis Alvarez de Lugo, whose pictorial work we have had the opportunity to see several times in galleries across the city, is currently presenting a collection of his paintings in Paris. The exhibition is taking place at the Marcel Bernheim Gallery, through which several Venezuelan painters have become known in Europe, most recently including Antonio Alcántara.

Luis Alvarez de Lugo Expone en Galería de París PARÍS. — En la Galería Marcel Bernheim, situada en el Faubourg Saint-Honoré de París, se ha inaugurado con gran lucidez la exposición del pintor venezolano Luis Alvarez de Lugo. La muestra, integrada por casi treinta cuadros, fue abierta al público en presencia del Consejero de la Delegación ante la UNESCO, el poeta Rafael Ángel Insausti, y destacados miembros de la colonia venezolana y el mundo artístico parisino.

Alvarez de Lugo y Juan Alcalde exponen este mes en París De paso hacia París el pintor Luis Alvarez de Lugo estuvo en España. Captó allá la escena que reproducimos en esta oportunidad. “Se trata de un repartidor de pan tal y como los había en la Caracas de mil y pico. De la misma manera reparten la leche en unos burritos cargados de cántaros generalmente llevados por unas mujeres. Se paran de casa en casa trasegando la leche… Me pareció una escena interesantísima, pues allí las cosas se mantienen en su forma primitiva, sin artificios preparados para el turista,” comenta Alvarez de Lugo.
“El martes salimos rumbo a París,” —sigue Alvarez de Lugo—, “para ultimar los detalles de la exposición, pues ya la tenemos encima. Vamos a ver cómo salimos de todo esto.”
En efecto, Luis Alvarez de Lugo, cuya obra pictórica hemos tenido oportunidad de verla varias veces en galerías de la ciudad, presenta por estos días en París una colección de sus cuadros. La exposición tiene lugar en la galería Marcel Bernheim, a través de la cual se han dado a conocer en Europa varios pintores venezolanos, entre ellos Antonio Alcántara, entre los últimos.
